About Me

My name is Wayne Mullane. My passion for editing is rooted in a lifelong love of exploration – both in the real world and through fictional world-building. For me, landscapes are alive. Whether it is a saw-toothed mountain peak in the United Kingdom or an uncharted planet in a science fiction epic, a well-crafted setting has the power to breathe life into any adventure.

My editorial path began on the trail. Hiking across UK and Ireland became the catalyst for me to travel further abroad and ultimately publish my own book, Adventure Dayze. This process brought me into contact with a vibrant community of authors and readers on Instagram, where I began beta-reading manuscripts and posting reviews.

Professional Qualifications

Realising that I wanted to support fellow writers professionally, I chose to formalise my skills. I completed the proofreading and copy editing course through the College of Media and Publishing and I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading.

Today, I combine this rigorous training with my deep knowledge of fantasy, science fiction, travel and hiking. I understand these genres as both an author and an editor. Whether you are mapping out a fantastical kingdom or recounting a trek across a mountain range, I am here to ensure your prose is as sharp and compelling as your vision.

Real-World Experience

Authentic writing requires an understanding of how the world truly moves, sounds and feels. Having explored coastal paths, summited mountain peaks and traveled widely, I bring a practical understanding of geography and human journeying to the manuscripts I edit. This first-hand experience allows me to help writers ensure that their travel narratives feel genuine and their fictional worlds remain vividly grounded.
